| The Massachusetts
Minority State Police Officers' Association was incorporated
on January 1, 1995 by a group of Minority State Troopers
that realized there was a need for a minority organization
to address the issues and concerns of minorities within
the ranks of the Massachusetts State Police.
The purpose of the Association is to
assist, increase, evaluate, and monitor all education,
hiring, recruitment, retention, and promotion of minorities
in the Department of State Police and the various agencies
where the organization has Associate members or a vested
interest.
The Association also insures departmental
implementation of all executive orders, statues, regulations
for both state and federal affirmative action and nondiscrimination
policies based on race, sex, age, and national origin
are adhered to.
The Association also insures that unfair
acts, practices, procedures, programs, and unwritten policies
of the department affecting minorities are discontinued
and abolished.
The Association has established a working
relationship between the Department of State Police and
the minority communities and schools.
